Obituary

Simon Finkelstein, age 91, beloved husband of the late Rebecca, nee Borenstein: dear father of Jerry (Sharon Howell) and Michal (Billy Weisel) Finkelstein: proud and loving Saba of Seth Schwartzman, Eran (Orly) Weisel, Akiva (Oriya) Weisel, Yehuda Weisel, Meira Weisel and great grandfather of four. Simon proudly served in the IDF in 1948 and went on to become a hebrew teacher at New Trier High School and at the College of Jewish Studies. Graveside service Thursday 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Although I personally had not met Mr. Simon Finkelstein, I do know that he was loved and cared for by his son Jerry Finkelstein and daughter in law Sharon. Jerry was always telling me in the last few years how he was trying to make his Dad’s life as easy and comfortable as possible. Jerry and Sharon devoted as much time as they both could in this endeavor and I know that when Mr. Finkelstein passed he had to feel the love and caring that his entire family felt for him. Rest in peace MR. Finkelstein.
